PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU ATTEMPT ANY UNLOCK PROCESS
Instructions For iPhone 5 on any iOS software:
- Make sure your iPhone 5 have wifi access.
- Insert non AT&T SIM card in the iPhone 5.
- Wait for the iPhone 5 to restart with activation setup screen.
- Wait for iPhone 5 to search network signal, this may take up to a minute. Once detect, you are done.
- If your iPhone 5 does not restart by itself with activation setup screen, please do a manual restart and continue step 3.
- Repeat if necessary until it picks up a network signal.
- If the above steps still does not work for you, try one of these options:
- Insert an active AT&T SIM card in to activate it first then replace it with your non AT&T SIM. Now wait for signal pickup.
- Connect to iTunes on your computer with a non AT&T SIM card in to finish the unlocking process. Wait for signal pickup.
- Restore iPhone 5 using iTunes on your computer. Once done, proceed with unlocking instructions above.
Instructions for iPhone 4S, 4, 3GS, 3G, 2G on iOS 3.1.3, 4.2.1, 5.0.1, 5.1.1, 6.0, 6.0.1, 6.0.2, 6.1 or higher:
Note: iPhone 2G and 3G must be on the latest iOS software. iPhone 3GS, 4, and 4S must be on 5.0.1 or higher in order to proceed with these unlocking instructions.
- Make sure your computer has an internet connection.
- Insert any non-accepted/foreign iPhone compatible GSM SIM card into your iPhone. If you are unlocking USA AT&T iPhones, you cannot use AT&T's Straight Talk, H2O, Net10, or Sprint or Verizon network SIM cards for this unlocking process, SIM card must be another GSM network.
- Open the iTunes program from your computer, not the iTunes on your iPhone. Make sure iTunes has the latest version.
- Connect the iPhone to the computer using the original white Apple USB cable.
- Wait for your iPhone to appear on top right corner of iTunes on your computer then select your iPhone to see the summary page.
- If iTunes does detect, your iPhone will restart with activation screen. Go thru the setup screen until you see the home screen. Wait for network signal to pick up. You are done.
- If iTunes does not detect your iPhone, disconnect your iPhone then reconnect, wait for detection. You should see the "Congratulation Your iPhone is Unlocked" screen. You are done.
- If iTunes still does not detect, then hold power button to restart your iPhone with USB cable connected. Your iPhone should restart with the new iPhone setup screen. Proceed thru until you see the iPhone's home screen. You should see the Congratulation screen or if not, just wait for your iPhone to pick up network signal. You are done.
- If iTunes does detect and your iPhone does not restart with activation screen, please try one of the following:
- Go into Settings, turn airplane mode on then off. Wait for network signal to pick up. This may take more than one attempt. Once your iPhone shows your new network, you are done. If not, try below.
- Go into network settings and toggle 3G or roaming mode either on or off. Then restart your iPhone to see if it helps in picking up signal.
- Open the Summary tab and make sure you can see the information about your iPhone. In the summary screen, click the Sync button then wait for the sync process to complete. Once synchronizing is complete, disconnect your iPhone, then reconnect back to iTunes to go through the new iPhone setup process. Wait for your iPhone to pick up signal on the new network. You are done.
- If none of these works, please do a backup and restore your iPhone using iTunes on your computer.
Instructions for iPhone 4S, 4, 3GS, 3G, 2G Not Updated to the latest iOS version.
Before you can unlock your iPhone, make sure that you have done the following:
- Your computer is connected to the Internet.
- You have the latest iTunes version (http://www.apple.com/itunes/) in your computer.
- Insert anon-accepted/foreign SIM card and turn on the iPhone.
- Open the iTunes program and connect the iPhone to the computer using the white Apple USB cable.
- Wait until your iPhone appears in the top right corner and select your iPhone.
- Click on iPhone to open the Summary page so you can see the information about your iPhone.
- If prompted to update your iPhone. Make sure that you select cancel. You must backup first. Warning: If you do not back up your iPhone, all your saved media and other data will be erased and you may not be able to recover it.
- In the summary screen, click the Back Up Now button. Follow all the instructions prompted by iTunes to back up your iPhone.
- After you backed up your iPhone, select Restore iPhone.
- A confirmation window will appear to restore your iPhone. Make sure that you select or click the Restore and Update button to continue.
- Read the “Important Information” displayed on the screen as this will describe to you the improvements included in the software update version. Click the Next button to continue.
- You will be prompted to read and agree with the “Software License Agreement”. Click Agree button to continue.
- Wait until the process is complete. Do not interrupt your computer or disconnect the iPhone from the USB cable. You will notice that the software will be downloaded to your computer from the iTunes store. A progress message will be displayed during the entire process.
- This process may take awhile. Depending on your internet connection and the software update file, this process can take at least 30 minutes.
- Once your iPhone has been restored, the iPhone will automatically restart. Do not disconnect your iPhone. Leave it connected until it reappears in iTunes.
- Your iPhone will automatically connect to iTunes store and will be activated and unlocked.
- You should now be able to use your iPhone with other GSM operator's SIM card.
General Questions:
I cannot send or receive MMS/ pictures on USA T-Mobile.
Please set these MMS settings for USA T-Mobile network:
- Tap on Settings-> General -> Network -> Cellular Data Network
- Type in only these settings, leave everything else blank:
- Cellular Data APN: wap.voicestream.com
- MMS APN:wap.voicestream.com
- MMSC http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
- MMS UA Prof URL http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf
- Now MMS should work on your unlocked iPhone.

My phone asks to enter a PIN number.
Make sure that you have entered the SIM PIN before activating or restoring your iPhone.
My handset displays a different message than what is shown in this procedure.
Depending on your computer’s operating system, the procedure steps and messages may slightly differ from what is described in this procedure. Just follow the online screen messages from iTunes to continue the process.
An error message appears saying "We could not complete your iTunes store request due to an unknown error..." and the device requires to be connected to iTunes.
A connection error to the iTunes store may have occurred. Disconnect the iPhone from the USB connector and reconnect it again. This will start another request to iTunes store for activation and unlocking. My handset is not released from the Original Network.
It may take up to a few hours for your device to be registered as unlocked in the Apple Database. Please attempt the above unlocking process again after this period.
